Anita Borg who was founder of Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology, believed firmly the necessity and big role of technology in human’s life. In her fond memory ‘Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship’’ has been started by Google. This scholarship is given to females who are graduate or undergraduate. The basis to get scholarship is the quality of leadership and academic background. The award is given for the academic year. So if you are senior year of undergraduate or enrolled in (2011-2012) graduate program, in the U.S then you are eligible for the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship 2011. The Scholarship which is to encourage you to bloom and advance in the field of technology and computing offers you nearly €7,000 in scholarship.

Google Anita Borg Scholarship 2011 are given in the Australia, Africa, Asia, Middle East, Europe, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States. If you have strong academic background and have enrolled in any program that is technical or related to computer science and computer engineering then the scholarship is for you.February1, 2011 is the last date for you to apply for the scholarship and finalist will be announced in May 2011. The winning scholars will get an invitation to attend a networking retreat at Google in summer 2011. For just two days there would be workshops, breakout sessions, speakers, social activities etc for you in the retreat to groom you. You will also get the opportunity to share your experiences.

To get the Google Anita Borg Scholarship 2011 you will have to fill up the application online. You will also have to submit the electronic version of your Bio-Data, transcripts, essay responses, name and your reference email. You will have to submit the soft copy of your scanned transcript and have to read the online application carefully to follow all the instructions and avoid any mistake or any rejection of your application. If you are finalist or yet to be graduated then do send verification letter from the university.
